Archaeology near Rugby

My last "professional" involvement in field archaeology was at Coton, north of Rugby, where land was being cleared for a business park. In the summer of 1998 was employed as a humble "digger" by Northamptonshire Archaeology, on a rescue excavation directed by Anthony Maull. The site, a large area excavation, was of a deserted medieval village, and uncovered the post-hole foundations of about 20 flimsy buildings, some roads and pits.
