Where we are at large

A quick guided tour of our house

We live in Wilford Village, on the south bank of the River Trent on the outskirts of Nottingham.

Literally on the south bank of the River Trent — we look out of our rear windows at the flood bank, along which runs the Trent Valley Way, then across the river, past a fisherman or two, over some untidy bushes to the Park and Ride and an industrial estate, some electricity pylons and stuff like that... Not the most wonderful of views, but we do get to see the occasional swan, lots of ducks, a steady procession of dog-walkers, rowers, cyclists, joggers and the like.

Not far to our left the A52 leaps across the river, giving us a background of traffic noise.

This is a view of our back garden looking north west. The fence has since been repainted!
Our pond, dug through solid ruibble, at an early stage of colonisation. 2002 has seen a good crop of tadpoles.
The back of the house. We lost quite a few of the terracotta pots in gales during the autumn.
The tub in the front garden, with the plants looking very young in 2001. Expect to see updates of this view!
